Funny Matters

If you do one thing today, please vote for my mackerel!

If you’ve not yet seen my shameless pleas for votes over on my Facebook page you may not know the exciting news that Funny Matters has been nominated for the UK Blog Awards 2015!!

Yes! I know! Nuts isn’t it?!

This is from the girl who until the start of this year was so uncomfortable at ‘being online’ that even her Twitter account was set up in a fake name.

Turns out once I opened my mouth, I couldn’t shut up!

I have no idea if I have ANY chance of getting past the first phase of ‘public voting’ and being shortlisted.

After all, Funny Matters was only conceived less then 6 small months ago and my lovely and much-appreciated email subscribers are a small-but-perfectly-formed gang of about 100 (most of whom I have never met…. but maybe one day will!)

Compared to other more established blogs, I am but a mere sprat in the ocean….

But. We all know what sprats are good at. Catching mackerel!

So, please help me catch that mackerel. To get Funny Matters out there. To be seen by as many other people as possible who might get something from what I write – support, hope, encouragement… or maybe just to feel slightly less alone in whatever isolating situation they’ve unfortunately been thrust into.

It takes less than a minute to vote… so let’s get that little fishy:

VOTE HERE (Update: Voting now closed)

Big heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of you for your support!

xx

P.S. Admittedly sprats are good at catching mackerel because they erm, get eaten by them… but hey, let’s not get bogged down in semantics

Good luck with your mackerel Angela! It’s a little corker. My vote’s in the virtual ballot box. Fingers crossed. And legs crossed and eyes crossed. It’s a good look. xx

Thanks Richard, a good look indeed! Hmmm…. Sad to say though I didn’t make it through to the judging round. But, you’ve got to be in it to win it, eh… or something like that!.. and so chuffed to have had so much support from everyone. I’m still a winner really! 😉 xx
